7月19日、ビクトリア州は、7月22日（水）23:59よりmetropolitan MelbourneとMitchell Shire地域での外出時におけるマスク着用の義務化を発表しました。
新型コロナウイルス感染拡大抑制のため、引き続き慎重な行動が求められています。やむなく外出する時には、飛沫感染を防ぐため、また乾燥から鼻や口を守るために、マスクをしたい人は多いでしょう。そこで、誰でも簡単にできるマスクの作り方を紹介します。
 
On July 19th, Victoria (VIC) announced that it is mandatory to wear a mask when going out in the metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire areas from 23:59 on Wednesday, 22nd July.
Careful action is still required to control the spread of coronavirus infections. Many people want to wear a mask when they go out to prevent infections and to protect their nose and mouth from dryness. Therefore, I will instruct you on how to make a mask that anyone can easily do.
 

＜用意するもの＞ 
・ハンカチ、もしくは綿100%の布（35×35cm程度）。
・輪にしたゴムひも、もしくはヘアゴムやリボンなど。
 
<What to prepare>
・ Handkerchief or 100% cotton cloth (about 35 x 35 cm).
・ Round rubber bands, hair elastics, ribbons, etc.
 
 
 

＜作り方 / How to make >
1. ハンカチを上下で畳み、三つ折りにします。
 
1. Fold the handkerchief up and down and fold it in three.
2. 両端から三等分の位置に、ゴムひもを通します。
 
2. Thread a rubber band from both ends in three equal parts.
3. 左右を均等に中央に折り込み、一方の端をもう一方の端に入れ込めば完成。
3. Fold the left and right evenly in the centre and insert one end into the other to complete.

鼻と口をカバーできるように、布の大きさや折り方を工夫しましょう。縦幅が広い場合は、ゴムひもを通す時にギャザーになるように折るとフィットします。
Consider the size and folding of the cloth so that it covers your nose and mouth. If the height is too much fold it into a gather so you can pass the rubber bands through it.
 
●使用後、マスクの表面にはウイルスが付着している可能性があります。外す時にはひもの部分を持ち、必ず毎回洗いましょう。
● After use, there may be viruses on the surface of the mask. Be sure to hold the string part when removing it and wash it every time.
 
●市販のマスクに比べて、フィット感やフィルター効果はそれほど期待できません。市販品が手に入らない場合の応急措置として使って下さい。
● Compared to regular masks, you can not expect the same fit, and filtering effect. Please use it as a temporary measure when you cannot obtain a regular commercial mask.
