(Seafood Aglio Olio linguine with prawns, fresh fish, mussels, anchovies, spinach, toasted breadcrumbs, olive oil, chilli and garlic $28)

(Seared Tuna fillet with asparagus, watercress, papaya, radish and agrodolce $31)

(Rack of Lamb with beetroot and feta ravioli, sauteed spinach and a red wine reduction $29)

Getting away from the hustle and bustle of the Bourke St, I emerged at this restaurant.

Ca De Vin reminded me of tasteful restaurants in a back street in Europe.

Located in an alley way and making full use of the Old GPO building,

it transports us to another world.

And it has a discreet atmosphere contrary to the location, and makes me feel luscious.

Putting on a simple, black dress with a trench coat of a quality as if one of an old famous

Hollywood Stars. And then, a good looking gentleman appears ……

well I should hold my imagination there.

The thin based pizzas with fresh toppings are already well known by Melbournians

but we enjoyed the new dishes which the Head Chef Christos recommended.

You will see a variety of seafood dishes on the menu as it mainly serves Mediterranean cuisine.

The first dish Seafood Aglio Olio, is a pasta dish.

Fresh flavoured linguini with olive oil, roasted garlic and a chilli is mixed with

different kinds of seafood like prawns and mussels.

It would be perfect with a glass of icy cold crisp white wine.

The second dish of seared tuna fillet was medium rare and came with the Chef’s slow cooked

secret sauce, was an excellent match to the dish.

Vegies and papaya also complimented the fresh tuna and were delicious.

I would highly recommend the third dish we tried, a rack of lamb, to the meat lovers.

Like fish dishes, a steak can be either perfect or poor depending on how it’s cooked.

I personally prefer medium rare cooked steaks as you can enjoy both roasted meat and

fresh raw meat at the same time and Ca De Vin’s was an artisanal medium rare.

The richness of a red wine sauce added flavour and truly complimented the dish.

Apart from the regular desserts like tiramisu and a dessert pizza,

weekly dessert specials provide another option for you. Enjoying a lunch alone whilst

indulging in dreamy thought or maybe spending a romantic night with a love one,

a glass of wine and Mediterranean dishes would be a good choice, too.

How will you spend time here?
