CHAYO is a Japanese café located just 2 minutes from Clayton Station. We’re currently looking for passionate and experienced team members to join us in the following roles:

■ EXPERIENCED BARISTA – PART TIME
We’re looking for a confident barista with solid coffee knowledge and great customer service skills.

Main duties:

Preparing espresso coffee and specialty drinks

Managing workflow and assisting with floor duties

Maintaining a clean and efficient work environment

Providing friendly customer service

Working closely with FOH and kitchen teams

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years specialty coffee experience

Strong knowledge of coffee and equipment

Full working rights in Australia (working holiday welcome to apply)

Flexible availability including weekends

■ PASTRY CHEF / BAKER – PART TIME
We’re looking for someone to make tarts, shortcakes, cookies, and Japanese-inspired desserts.

Main duties:

Preparing and baking cakes and other baked goods

Following recipes and keeping consistency

Keeping a clean and organised workstation

Working with the kitchen and FOH teams

Requirements:

Experience in pastry or baking (tarts, shortcakes, cookies)

Good time management and attention to detail

Full working rights in Australia

Early morning availability

Willingness to help with general kitchen work (preferred)

■ ASSISTANT FLOOR MANAGER – PART TIME or FULL TIME
We’re looking for a reliable and friendly person to lead floor service and help organise the team.

Main duties:

Supervising FOH and managing team

Handling bookings, floor flow, and customer service

Working closely with barista and kitchen team

Supporting staff training and organisation

Requirements:

FOH supervisory or manager experience

Strong communication and leadership skills

Calm, positive attitude under pressure

Full working rights in Australia

Interest in Japanese cuisine or language (a plus)

■ KITCHEN HAND – PART TIME
We’re looking for a reliable and efficient kitchen hand, ideally with Japanese kitchen experience.

Main duties:

Basic food prep and plating

Cleaning dishes and kitchen equipment

Stock organisation and waste management

Helping with closing tasks

Requirements:

Experience in a kitchen, especially with Japanese food (preferred)

High attention to cleanliness

Able to follow directions and work in a team

Full working rights in Australia
