9月からいよいよファイナル・シーズン突入！ そしていよいよやって来ました！ グランドファイナル！
全豪オープン、メルボルンカップと並ぶオーストラリア最大のスポーツイベントです。グランドファイナル前には、メルボルン中がAFL色に染まります。9月21日（月）からFederation Squareでは、無料イベントのToyota AFL Grand Final Weekが開催され、ゴール・キッキング、ハンドボーリング、AFL選手達のトークイベント、サイン会などお楽しみも目白押し！
グランドファイナル前日の9月25日（金）には、シティでパレードが開催されるので、出かけてみてね～。お気に入りの選手達を間近で見れるチャンスですよ。グランドファイナルは、Federation Square他、メルボルン中のPUBで中継されるので、お友達と一緒にモリモリ盛り上がって観戦しましょう！ 強豪２チームが一生懸命がぶつかり合う姿に感動もひとしお！ プレー前の国家斉唱に備えて、オーストラリア国歌も暗記しとかなね～（笑）。
果てさて、Ladder１、２位を死守している、聖☆おにいさんの悲願の優勝なるか？！ 劇団☆Catsに勝利の女神が微笑むのか？！ 何が起こるかわからないファイナルズ！
最後まで、緊褌一番で大勝負に臨む選手達を応援しましょう～！

"I am not afraid"
In 2002, how can I put this delicately...oh why bother, Carlton got busted for cheating. The Blues were fined almost a million dollars and had it's draft rights removed for 2 years, crippling it's efforts at rebuilding the team for a tilt at starting a new dynasty. Needless to say (so why am I saying it?), it has been a pretty rough century for Blues fans (the team, not the music).
Carlton fans were able to get through the first few years in the footy finals wilderness, by reliving the the glory of the 5 flags won since 1979. However, after missing the finals for 7 consecutive seasons (including 3 “wooden spoons”, the trophy for last place), some Blues fans were getting nervous.
Suddenly questions started to emerge in the minds of Carlton fans and the football public in general.
Was Carlton still one of the “Big 3” (alongside Collingwood and Essendon) in the AFL?
Was Carlton going to be able to recover and return to being the team everyone hated and feared?
Could the Blues somehow avoid following the path of Richmond and get back to playing finals footy before the century was over?
Well, the answer to the first question is “Of course it is. Don't be ridiculous".
The answer to the second question is “Of course, what are you stupid or something?" , and the answer to the final question is “JUDDY!!!”.
Originally this article was going to examine the teams in the Finals this year, but once I started brainstorming, I realized there was only one team worth mentioning, Carlton. Even my brother, who hasn't watched a game of football for the last 20 years is getting excited about Carlton's return to power, and I've been excited for the last 2 years.
So, in the last footy article for the season, I will loudly and confidently make the call, and I am not afraid.
Your premiers for 2009, the Mighty Blues!
